Hello.  I am on an 8 core Mac Pro (about 4 years old).  I have an ATI Radeon 1900 graphics card and 16 gigs of RAM.  My software is on the main hard drive and all of my projects & source footage are on a second internal drive.  I am linking 2 different media formats using AMA.

One is AVCHD footage from a Panasonic AF100 and the other is MXF files from a Cannon XF300.

Should I transcode either of these formats and if so, to what codec?

My second question is, are there any harware upgrades I could/should do? (Graphics card, external raid...)

I was just wondering about the Avid’s Mojo–SD (Avid’s first DNA pro-consumer I-O device), whether it increased the efficiency of a computer’s processing speed?  I remember when it was first introduced, Avid said, it did. So if it does, should one hook up the device to the computer even though one might not need the I-O capabilities?

Hi, I am a new one on this forum, so please forgive if this subject was just taken.

I bought MC6 (earlier using 5.0) and now it take few time longer time to import qt movies. I need to import a whole movie from QT (about 100minutes) and on MC5 it took about 2hrs, and now on MC6 it take about 20hrs!!!

Do anybody met the same problem?

I will be very thankfull for help

hi everyone,

i have a bin from one proj' (made on MC5) that i try to open in other proj' (MC 2.7.2)

but it dont open with the error: "unable to open file"  "File does not contain a valid Avid domain header"

I dont have the base proj'.

i try a few things already:

1. make a new proj with the name of the bin, copy the bin and open it as regular bin in a proj'

2. copy the bin to the desktop and use open bin, as use with the attic.

the both ideas didn't work.

please help me with a solution.

Problem: When I load MC 5.5.3.2 with Mojo SDI connected there is no audio (not even in the timeline meters) and no video output. I can switch from component (what I use for monitoring) to composite and back and I se the monitor responding to it. I also get bars out of the Mojo when I load windows. This Mojo SDI works fine on my other system so its not a hardware issue.

Observatuions:

1. Click on 1394 and playback works fine in sofrware mode, click DNA and audio is gone along with video output.

2. When I load mc with Mojo disconnected it works fine in software mode.

3. When I load MC using the same system with Matrox MXO2 mini I get audio/video output just fine.

Why isnt the 5.5 working with my Mojo SDI?
